Continuation of John's (of Skillet) Email about "Evan Almighty"

Here are the responses of other ministry leaders and para-church organizations supporting the film:

Kevin Palau / Luis Palau Association
Kevin thought the film was great and that it would be wonderful to promote it at the Luis Palau Festival. The Nashville Luis Palau Festival will have over 300,000 people attending. Kevin also said that as soon as he got back to his office, he was going to call a dozen other ministries and encourage them to support EVAN.

Shaun Winn / Teen Mania
Before he arrived in Los Angeles, Shaun was very unsure about how he might react to the film, and was fairly certain this would not be a film Teen Mania would get behind. Suffice to say that he did a complete 180, and now wants to have as much Evan-sponsored elements as possible in their conferences between now and opening day. Shawn absolutely loved the film and thinks it’s going to be a tremendous hit in the Christian community. Teen Mania hosts weekly events for Christian teens nationwide – attendance between 10,000 and 50,000 per event.

Bob Thompson/Christian Festival Association
He thought the film was fantastic and he believe in its’ success and wants to do his part in making sure as many people as possible go see it opening weekend. He is the president of the association that is agreeing to let Evan Almighty be heavily promoted at 8 large Christian festivals before the release date. The potential audience size of this partnership is 350,000 attendees nationwide and 1,000,000 people in email blasts.

Joe Davis / Salem Radio Network
Joe thought it was a delightful film. Very, very funny and was thrilled at how clean and reverent Tom Shadyac was able to make it. As the president of the Salem Radio Network, he promised that Salem will champion the film, ArkALMIGHTY, and the Rock the Boat concert – which they are broadcasting nationwide. Salem Radio Network is the largest and most influential Christian radio network in the country.

Dan Hardaway / Campus Crusade for Christ
Dan felt the film was spectacular and will be a force not only at the box office but, through ArkALMIGHTY, within the Christian community. Campus Crusade is a worldwide, interdenominational Christian ministry committed to showing people how they can know and experience God's plan for their lives.

Craig Detweiler / Fuller Theological Seminary
Craig thought Evan Almighty was vintage Shadyac: funny, great, meaningful storytelling that mainstream critics will probably hate and audiences will happily attend in droves regardless. Detweiler is on-board to write materials in support of the film and get out to Fuller’s 17,000 alumni pastors. Fuller Theological Seminary is the largest seminary west of the Mississippi and is based in Pasadena, CA.

Michael Simone / Spring Branch Community Church
Spring Branch is one of our Beta testing churches and Reverend Simone is their Senior Pastor. He loved the film and thought it was very well done. His only negative comment was that he wished there was a little more examples of Acts of Random Kindness portrayed in the film.

Paul Braoudakis / Willow Creek Association
Paul was thrilled with the film and even more excited to be partnering on the ArkALMIGHTY campaign. Paul promised to bring the full resources of the Willow Creek Association to bear to support the film. Willow Creek Church in Chicago is a model for more than 10,000 churches nationwide, which comprise the Willow Creek Association.

Kyle Bonenberger / Hour of Power
He was greatly impressed with the overall film. He was beaming ear to ear. He felt the message was strong without being preachy. Hour of Power is the television ministry of Robert Schuller, which is seen weekly by over 3.5 million people domestically and 20 million people worldwide

Dave Evans / Salem Web Network
Dave thought the movie was terrific. Called is an A “plus” stating that it was “terribly funny but also had depth that is rarely found in most comedies.” Salem Web Network has the largest network of Christian websites in the country.

Bill Price / The Fish L.A.
Terrific film. Funny, completely clean. His audience will love it. The Fish L.A. is the local Salem owned and operated radio station and one of the largest in their network.

Paul Crouch, Jr. / TBN
Paul thoroughly enjoyed it and thought it was funny, clean and good for the entire family. He was skeptical coming into the screening, but seems poised to cover the film with additional follow-up. TBN is the largest Christian broadcast network in the country, with over 98% coverage and will be broadcasting the Rock The Boat concert nationwide.

Alejandro Aguilera-Titus / U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops
Alejandro was most impressed with the film. He believes contemporary images that can make religion resonate in today's youth are absolutely vital. Once he returns to his office, he would like to brainstorm on how the USCCB can incorporate the film and ArkALMIGHTY into upcoming events and existing programs. The USCCB is the governing body for the Catholic Church in the United States, representing more than 60 million Catholics.

Eric Abel / Outreach
Eric loved the film. It was more than he was expecting, quite frankly. He is very happy to be partnered with the film and feels that ArkALMIGHTY will resonate with churches around the country. Outreach is the largest provider of church communication and outreach tools.

George Temple / Sermon Spice
George really liked the film. He thought Steve was fantastic and displayed a wide range of emotions, which he felt is rare for comedic based actors. He felt the film is a slam-dunk at the box office this summer. Sermon Spice is one of the leading on-demand Christian companies providing sermon media for pastors and Christina communicators.

Joe Phillis/ Trinity Lutheran Church
He thought the movie was perfect and seeing it definitely solidified his desire to make the ArkALMIGHTY campaign work at their church. He is the youth pastor of their church that is going to be serving as a BETA church for the launch of ArkALMIGHTY.

Lynne Marian/ Outreach
Lynne loved the movie. She thought that it was a great example of how Christians involved in filmmaking were improving the quality of entertainment. She thought the movie was visually fantastic. She believes that this is the kind of film that Outreach would love to get involved in. Outreach is the leading provider of church communication tools and ministry resources.

Kevin Johnson/ Youth Specialties
Kevin thinks that all churches will love this movie because of the strong Christian themes. He was impressed with the special effects and all the animals involved with the movie. Each year Youth Specialties reaches more than 100,000 youth workers through their conventions, training seminars, and ministry tools.

Philip Jones/The Gathering Place
He loved the film and is very excited for getting the ArkALMIGHTY underway at their church. He thinks that this movie is a great fit for their whole congregation. He is the senior pastor of The Gathering Place – a church that will be serving as a BETA church.

Jan Stump/ ACSI (Positive)
Jan was really impressed with the movie. She applauded the special effects and enjoyed the cinematography. She thinks EVAN ALIMGHTY will be a great summer movie for kids and teenagers and a good vehicle for ArkALMIGHTY. ACSI (Association of Christian Schools International) serves over 5,300 member schools that enroll nearly 1.2 million children.

Brent Bailey/ RHEMA
Loved the movie! Brent enjoyed the final scene between God and Evan because it compliments the idea behind ArkALMIGHTY and highlights the goodwill programs already implemented in the churches they serve. RHEMA continues to expand its ministry daily. Its magazine reaches 250,000 homes and its television broadcast has a potential audience of 30 million people in the United States each week. (of course it doesn’t!)

Patrick Mooney/ National Federation of Catholic Youth Ministry
Patrick enjoyed the movie, but thought that the film skewed a little younger than the youth ministers we expect to attract for ARK Almighty. He believes that EVAN ALMIGHTY will appeal much more to children ages six to eleven or twelve years old. However, he will recommend the film to all youth and young adult Catholics because it has so many enriching themes and messages including protecting the environment and the awareness of political corruption. NFCYM serves Catholic Youth and young adult ministry leaders in diocese across the country. They expect an attendance of 3,000 youth ministers for their annual conference.

Ken Coleman / In Joy
Ken thought that the film had an excellent message, however, he would like ending to be tweaked to fit the ArkALMIGHTY campaign better. In Joy develops thousands of new and emerging Christian leaders yearly primarily through seminars and conferences.

Mark Moring / Christianity Today
Mark loved it. He thought it was funny, touching and “can’t wait to take his wife and kids.” He was very impressed with the graphics and effects (even though they were considered rough). CT is the Time Magazine of the Christian world with a readership of 330,000.

Kim Dorr / Bel Air Presbyterian Church
Bel Air, one of our Beta testing churches was already primed to like the film and they were not disappointed. Kim, a minister at Bel Air, adored the film, and on Tuesday, the pastoral leadership of Bel Air will determine whether to include ArkALMIGHTY into their Easter celebration at the Hollywood Bowl. Bel Air is a large church with 5000 members in Los Angeles.

Care Crawford / Bel Air Presbyterian Church
Pastor Care Crawford, a minister at Bel Air, and her husband Michael Simone thought the film was tremendous, moving and particularly heartfelt. On Tuesday, the pastoral leadership of Bel Air will determine whether to include ArkALMIGHTY into their Easter celebration at the Hollywood Bowl. Bel Air is a large church with 5000 members in Los Angeles.

Steve Sjogren / Conspiracy of Kindness
Steve thought Evan Almighty was an extraordinary film that Christians will really rally behind. Steve is writing the introduction to the ArkALMIGHTY materials, and will be featured in our sizzle reel, hosted by John Goodman.

David Fasold / Bay Hills Community Church
David, the head pastor of Bay Hills – one of our Beta churches – thought the film was terrific. His only note was that he wanted to see a few more Acts of Random Kindness peppered throughout the film. Bay Hills is fully on-board for engaging in ArkALMIGHTY, and can’t wait to get started after the screening.

Garry Poole / Willow Creek Community Church
Garry is the teaching pastor at Willow Creek, the second largest church in the country. He loved the film, and thought it was exceptionally funny. Garry will be utilizing Evan Almighty in a teaching series at Willow Creek during the month of June.

Hit the theaters two-by-two on June 22 for this summer's comedy of biblical proportions, EVAN ALMIGHTY! Comedian Steve Carell (The Office) and Morgan Freeman join together for a humorous twist to the classic story of Noah when God (Freeman) appears and commands Evan (Carell) to build an ark. As a newly elected congressman with a different agenda, Evan can't help but accept this holy mission. Get on board!

P.S. You might have forgotten to Earmark End of June of the Steven Curtis Chapman FREE concert in Manila/Taft. Here's the SCC Concert Details.
